A group of boys and girls are taken to an institution where they are trained to become fairy tale-like heroes and villains.
Sophie had waited her entire life to be kidnapped by the School Master and taken away to train to be a fairytale hero at The School for Good and Evil. However, Agatha, who is unliked by many for being considered a witch, is not ready to give up her only friend and must stop Sophie from going, this ending up as joining her. As the two get whisked away into the deathly secretive world of Fairytales, they find that their fortunes are reversed, much to Sophie's dismay. Finding it impossible to escape from the treacherous world, they find that the only way out, is through a fairytale.
Sophie and Agatha are best friends from opposite sides of the track. Sophie is a pink wearing, fun loving, princess while Agatha is a girl who only wears black and does not have any friends. In their tiny world of Gavaldon, Sophie and Agatha have both dreamed of being kidnapped into the School for Good and Evil to train to be villains. Obviously, Sophie wishes to go to the School for Good. Agatha doesn't care if she is in which school but just by looking at her you would think that she is a natural villain. But when they finally get kidnapped, they find their fates switched. Now Sophie and Agatha must find a way to survive the different schools and find a way home. They would soon realize that the only way home was through a fairy tale of their own.
Sophie and Agatha are best friends, they live in the woods and Sophie blond hair blue eyes with pink wants to be a princess, and Agatha with black hair, black clothes just wants to live a normal life. They get whisked off to the school for good for good and evil but, not everything goes as planned.
Sophie and Agatha live in Gavaldon, where every four years two children of age are taken by the mysterious School Master to the School for Good and Evil. The two, though it is unlikely, are best friends and polar opposites: Sophie adores pink and wishes to be a princess; Agatha lives in a graveyard and abhors silly fairytales. When the two are kidnapped to go to the School, Sophie is relieved to finally be where she belongs, until she is landed in the School for Evil and Agatha is thrust to the School for Good. The two must discover how strong their friendship is as they endure a tale of their own all in hopes to make it home, but that proves to be much harder than it sounds.
Best friends Sophie and Agatha are about to discover where all the lost children go: the fabled School for Good and Evil, where ordinary boys and girls are trained to be fairy tale heroes and villains. As the most beautiful girl in Gavaldon. Sophie has dreamed of being kidnapped into the enchanted world her whole life. With her pink dresses, glass slippers, and her good deeds, she knows she'll get top marks at the School for Good and graduate as a storybook princess. Meanwhile, Agatha, with her black frocks, wicked cat, and the dislike of nearly everyone, seems a perfect student at the School for Evil. But when the two girls are swept into the Endless Woods, they find their fortunes reversed where Agatha was landed in the School for Good and Sophie dropped in the School for Evil.
